Chen Zhi's involvement in Cambodia's agriculture and sports

Updated: May 11, 2021

There is a huge play in part from Chen Zhi Prince Group in the sectors of sports and agriculture in Cambodia. Chen Zhi's efforts to improve the skills of Cambodians would help the country move from a developing to a developed economy. This can be seen in his attempts to move away from conventional farming. Farming incomes have reportedly been hit hard by severe weather, resulting in floods and droughts, and have dropped by more than half in the first quarter of 2020.

Even before the 2020 pandemic, Cambodian farmers faced significant challenges. The price of main agricultural commodities like paddy rice, cassava, and other vegetables plummeted. The fertility of the soil has also decreased. The effect of a pandemic in 2020, on the other hand, will only make things worse for farmers.

Chen Zhi established the Ecological Agricultural Plantation to solve these farming issues. For Cambodia's agricultural sector, the plantation at Prince Manor Resort will be a game changer. Cambodians will be able to understand and use modern farming techniques. Global and local farming experts will oversee the processes.

The Prince Manor Resort in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, was completed in October 2020 and spans 136,000 square metres as part of the country's eco-tourism efforts to draw tourists. Guests will stay in hotels to see the magnificent scale of creativity used by agricultural experts in modern farming techniques. The 10,000-square-meter plantation, for example, uses an intelligent monitoring device to control temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, sunshine, and other variables 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The resort also has state-of-the-art reverse osmosis water filtration and integrated water and fertiliser systems.

For visiting students, relatives, and other stakeholders, the plantation will serve as an educational tool. Chen Zhi and Prince Group formed the resort as a responsible corporate conglomerate dedicated to Cambodia's tourism and agriculture industries' long-term growth.

Prince Manor Resort will also serve as a model for sustainable development initiatives in Cambodia's increasingly rising economy, as nearly nine-tenths of the resort is forested. Spring gardens, an amusement park, a water park, and several lodges are among the resort's other attractions.

Chen Zhi's presence in Cambodia would be more than just economic and philanthropic. Chen Zhi's long-term dream of Cambodian glory will include sports as well. His passion for the sport stems from his conviction that it will help Cambodia reduce healthcare costs and boost social cohesion.

Chen Zhi has helped the national men's volleyball team prepare for the Southeast Asian Games, which Cambodia will host for the first time in 2023. He funded the team's trip to Fujian, China in 2019 for a 2-month intensive training programme in order to help them develop. Chen Zhi made a $100,000 donation to the cause.

Such assistance was a noble cause aimed at bettering the lives of Cambodians. Chen Zhi is a pioneer in the fields of environmental, social, and governance (ESG). It's one of the ESG ideals that the Prince Group was founded on. There are attempts to help people in tough financial circumstances when the world is in the midst of a major crisis. These ESG values, on the other hand, are not new.

Many Cambodian businesses are encouraged and required to follow ESG principles in order to improve their economic competitiveness and attract more foreign investment into the country. This would not only help to improve the lives of Cambodians, but it would also help to transform Cambodia from a developing to a developed country.

Chen Zhi will continue to play an important role in Cambodia's development by forming strategic alliances and providing sufficient financial support to key industries for the benefit of Cambodians and the local economy.
